Homestand Comming up for Cards
Coming Off a rather disappointing series against the Cubs, the Cardinals look to bounce back as they return to Busch Stadium. The Cardinals, who are tied with Cubs a top the NL Central will try to get back to there winning ways when they take on the NY Mets Wednesday night. For me personally this is a great series because it bring back some of the wonderful feelings of 2006. The Mets are off to a mediocre 6-6 start but look to be a tough battle as they are coming off the series victory against the Brewers.
Now, if you’re a Cardinal fan then you probably feel that the cardinals are in most need of adjustment in the Bullpen. The latest debacle came in game two against the Cubs. P.J. Walters, a prospect that was recently called up from triple A to help fill the void left by the injury to Chris Carpenter, had a great game, fanning 7 hitters three of which were handed down to Alfonso Soriano. However, once the starting pitcher (In this case Walters) couldn’t go anymore it was time to bring in the relievers. I’ll let the numbers speak for themselves.

Chris Perez, who is still competing for the closing role for the Cardinals did not fair well, giving up what would end up being the game winning homer for the Cubs. At the hands of who you ask? Wouldn’t you know, it was Soriano.
The Cardinals did make a move for the bullpen this week. Trading minor leaguer Brian Barton to the Atlanta Braves for right hand-er Blain Boyer (pictured above).
Well that’s all for today folks, feel free to post and comments or question. I love Cardinal Convo. Till next time…..GO CARDS!!!!
